The main person in the business
Ed had just taken over the business, and it was quite a jump. He was the one delivering, with no time to step back.
He had friends running businesses and friends high up in banking. Good people, but outside the industry, so the conversations only went so far.
And he was sceptical of anything that sounded like self-help.

“I was giving my advice on the problem and I suddenly thought, hang on, why aren’t I doing that?”
