About the speaker
Ed Birkin is Managing Director and, until July 2026, owner of H2 Gambling Capital, the reference data source for the global gambling industry. H2 was founded in 2008; its market sizing and forecasting models cover more than 150 national and state markets and more than 100 listed operators and suppliers, and are cited by operators, regulators, trade bodies and sell-side analysts. Ed's background is investment banking: he led gaming sector research at Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital and Dresdner Kleinwort, and was one of H2's first subscribers in 2010 before joining in 2016. He built out H2's company-level data and market share products. In July 2026 Burghclere, the family office founded by Charlie Teviot that also owns EGR, acquired H2 to create a combined gambling data, news and events platform. Ed studied Economics with French at Durham.
